{"id":73,"date":"2024-03-27T10:34:23","date_gmt":"2024-03-27T10:34:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/whatistandfor.co\/Hatredandenvy\/?p=73"},"modified":"2024-03-27T10:37:43","modified_gmt":"2024-03-27T10:37:43","slug":"the-healed-mans-testimony","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/whatistandfor.co\/Hatredandenvy\/uncategorized\/the-healed-mans-testimony\/","title":{"rendered":"The Healed Man\u2019s Testimony"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>They brought the man who used to be blind to the Pharisees.&nbsp;<sup>14&nbsp;<\/sup>The day that Jesus made the mud and opened his eyes was a Sabbath.&nbsp;<sup>15&nbsp;<\/sup>Then the Pharisees asked him again how he received his sight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe put mud on my eyes,\u201d he told them. \u201cI washed and I can see.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>16&nbsp;<\/sup>Some of the Pharisees said, \u201cThis man is not from God,&nbsp;because he doesn\u2019t keep the Sabbath.\u201d But others were saying, \u201cHow can a sinful man&nbsp;perform such signs?\u201d And there was a division&nbsp;among them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>17&nbsp;<\/sup>Again they asked the blind man, \u201cWhat do you say about him, since he opened your eyes?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s a prophet,\u201d&nbsp;he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>18&nbsp;<\/sup>The Jews did not believe this about him\u2014that he was blind and received sight\u2014until they summoned the parents of the one who had received his sight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>19&nbsp;<\/sup>They asked them, \u201cIs this your son, the one you say was born blind? How then does he now see?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>20&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cWe know this is our son and that he was born blind,\u201d his parents answered.&nbsp;<sup>21&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cBut we don\u2019t know how he now sees, and we don\u2019t know who opened his eyes. Ask him; he\u2019s of age. He will speak for himself.\u201d&nbsp;<sup>22&nbsp;<\/sup>His parents said these things because they were afraid of the Jews, since the Jews had already agreed that if anyone confessed him as the Messiah,&nbsp;he would be banned from the synagogue.&nbsp;<sup>23&nbsp;<\/sup>This is why his parents said, \u201cHe\u2019s of age; ask him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>24&nbsp;<\/sup>So a second time they summoned the man who had been blind and told him, \u201cGive glory&nbsp;to God.&nbsp;We know that this man is a sinner.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>25&nbsp;<\/sup>He answered, \u201cWhether or not he\u2019s a sinner, I don\u2019t know. One thing I do know: I was blind, and now I can see!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>26&nbsp;<\/sup>Then they asked him, \u201cWhat did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>27&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cI already told you,\u201d he said, \u201cand you didn\u2019t listen. Why do you want to hear it again? You don\u2019t want to become his disciples too, do you?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>28&nbsp;<\/sup>They ridiculed him: \u201cYou\u2019re that man\u2019s disciple, but we\u2019re Moses\u2019s&nbsp;disciples.&nbsp;<sup>29&nbsp;<\/sup>We know that God has spoken to Moses.
