Seattle\u2019s business elite is taking aim at\u00a0Mayor Katie Wilson, demanding she get tough on public safety as the city grapples with deadly violence, open-air drug markets and concerns over police response times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a blistering letter Thursday, the CEOs and leaders of some of the region\u2019s biggest companies \u2014 Microsoft,\u00a0Starbucks, Costco, Zillow, Nordstrom,\u00a0Alaska Airlines, T-Mobile and the Seattle Mariners \u2014 called on the\u00a0City Council\u00a0to deliver a\u00a0\u201ccredible public-safety plan\u201d\u00a0with measurable results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA credible public-safety plan and a budget that protects the investments behind it are inseparable. Seattle voters have made clear that they expect both. We are ready to be partners,\u201d the letter signed by 38 leaders reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
