Requiring local  officials to start filing more detailed financial disclosures forms, the  goal being to help voters better monitor their spending decisions and  potential conflicts of interest. So excuse us if we ignore the crocodile  tears.No one is suggesting it\u2019s fun for elected  officials to tell the world how well \u2014 or not \u2014 they are doing  financially. But with political power comes political accountability.  Some local boards spend millions of dollars every year in public money.
