Company is using “robots in the body assembly process alone, with full automation in core processes”
When visiting the plant on Thursday, one standout impression was its sheer cleanliness. Automated guided vehicles (AGVs), which resemble robotic vacuum cleaners, transport parts across the floor, while robot arms handle intricate body assembly tasks, no human intervention required. One guided process involves robots aligning and installing doors, a task that in most traditional factories is still performed by hand.
Once a vehicle rolls off the line, it passes through a light tunnel for a visual quality check. Unlike conventional setups where a worker drives the car through, Xiaomi’s model autonomously moves the vehicle forward.
