The New Hampshire attorney general’s office issued a cease-and-desist letter Monday to the National Democratic Committee saying that a letter it sent to the state party calling the presidential primary “meaningless” violates New Hampshire law.
In the letter sent to the New Hampshire Democratic Party on Friday, the DNC’s Rules & Bylaws Committee told state Democratic Party leaders that in a previous letter, the state party was told that it “must take steps to educate the public that Jan. 23 is a nonbinding presidential preference event and is meaningless and the NHDP and presidential candidates should take all steps possible not to participate.”
